I'm betting that you sleep on your side (fetal position) or on your stomach? I have had that "falling asleep" thing happen also ...but I think it's from your muscles growing and stretching, fat decreasing, and you placing your new, bigger, oxygen starved limbs in areas that once supported circulation but no longer can due to size and position. You will adapt to a different sleeping position over time.

...It's doesn't take much to block of an artery. Main point is that I don't think it is the cycle's fault.

P.S. When you wake up, have you ever clubbed yourself in the face with your own dead arm? I have! :p

I used to get it a lot when I slept on my side and before my sleep apnea was treated.Lack of good blood getting to the area.

Sounds like you need a chiropractor.I have the same problem cus when you grow and put more weight on your body than what God intended your nerves and veins get pinched and you need to be adjusted more often.

I prop my head up on pillows and sleep face down.Never happens anymore. But then again I wear a cpap mask so it helps me stay propped up.
