I have read up on DiPasquale, Faigin, and McDonald, but I would like some more real life experience about my keto diet while on AAS.

I started this program a this week on minday, and basically I would like to know how others have done on Keto and AAS. I generally do fine with keto, and I can usually get into ketosis on the first day. I noticed at the end of day 1 I was in keto, but the second day I wasn't. Sort of odd. My goal is to gain a few keepable lbs of muscle and lean up a little. Do you think its a good Idea, or should I opt for a moderate diet and lean up after.

The problem is that I tend to put fat on fast, and I dont want to lose all my muscle after the cycle.

Stats:

Weight: 234
BF: 16-20%

I am starting by getting deep into ketosis by going 2 weeks low carb, after which I am going to play around with how often I have refeeds. In the past, a weekly refeed was too soon, or I was eating too much fat durring the refeed (My wife is pregnant, and she gets to eat all the fun stuff). Here is what I am doing, and what I am using. STRICT!

Unsure about my refeed yet.

Diet
Calories 3000-3200 (13-14cal/lb/day) for the first two weeks

MEAL #1
5 whole eggs
4 egg whites
2 tbsp MCT Oil

MEAL #2
SHAKE: 50g Whey Protein (TBC protein, you like that?)
2 tablespoons Adams (crunchy) Peanut butter

MEAL #3
10oz chicken
1-cup almonds, or walnuts

MEAL #4
SHAKE: 50g Whey Protein
2 tablespoon Adams Peanut butter

MEAL #5
10oz Salmon, or RED MEAT
Broccoli or Green salad (no tomatoes, carrots, or red peppers)
1 tablespoon of Olive Oil or MCT Oil and vinegar

MEAL #6
SHAKE: 50g Whey
2 tablespoon Adams Peanut butter

I am following a 16 week cycle

wk 1-12 - Deca - 300mg/2x/week
wk 1-13 - Test - 250mg/2x/week
wk 1-4, 13-16 - TBol - 60mg/ed
HGH - 4iu/day throughout
throughout - Aromasin - 12.5mg/ed

wk 17-20 - Nolvadex - 10mg/2x/ed
wk 17-20 - Clomid - 50mg/ed
wk 13-20 - Clenbuterol to cut up a little more

Other Supplements Throughout
Neuro PS (Phosphatidylserine) - 300mg/2x/day
Glucosamine/Chondroitin
Fish Oil - 300mg/2x/day
Animal Pack - 2 packs

Please Critique My diet.

Everything looks pretty good actually. I think what your problem is, is the HGH you are using dropping blood sugar levels and giving you a false positive result for being in Keto. Generally it will take several days to ensure you are in a proper state of ketosis. Once there, you will only come out with a large intake of carbs so it wont just come and go. Keep eating like you are eating and check the sticks after a few more days and I am sure you will be back in and stay there.

As for the refeed, how exactly are you doing that? One meal, one day?

Thanks for the response. I wasnt really too worried about the ketosis thing anyway. I realise that I will get there within the first 3 days anyway.

I wondered if protein was a bit too high. Off the top of my head, I believe that I am getting around 350 g protein. I weigh 230, but do you think I should substitute with fats.

I have heard that excess protein can increase glucose to the point where it can kick you out of ketosis. That is, after the excess protein converts to glucose. Is this true?

I am unsure right now.

I think that two days was too much for me, so I might just go for one big meal to start, and see if I dont slow down in fat loss that way. I guess with AAS you probably wouldnt need to refeed as often, considering overall test levels wont drop. Also, with HGH, I dont have to worry about that dropping too much either. Guess Leptin is the one thing that will slow me down.

Still, I am planning on only losing around 10 lbs of fat, and then going on with a regular lean bulk (adding moderate carbs back in). I need to check bf%. I cant find my skyndex calipers.

Yes, very high amounts of protein do convert to glucose, but they do so for only enough energy for the heart and brain and nothing else. It wont be enough to kick you out of ketosis as you wont have enough to even store, but rather circulate only.

Start with one refeed meal 1x per week and that should be plenty to restore glycogen stores, increase metabolic rate, and still allow for proper fat loss
